1988 JSC “Biocentras” has been founded
1988 The first application of bacterial agent in remediation of oil polluted sites was made in Onega lake, Russia. In 6 km of coastline 100 t of oil polluted soil was cleaned.
1989 In Lithuania, Šilutė district, Juknaičiai 140 t of fuel oil in 3 km along railroad was cleaned.
1990 In Lithuania, Mažeikiai oil refining plant 110 t of crude oil in the pond was cleaned.
1991 In Latvia, Svente railway station, 360 t of fuel oil in 2,5 ha along railroad was cleaned.
1992 In Latvia, Venspils railway station 180 t diesel oil spilt in 2,5 km along railroad was cleaned.
1992 In Lithuania, Alytaus district in Nemunas River 500 t of fuel oil along 50 km of coast line was cleaned.
1993 In Lithuania, Vilnius district near Rykantai railway station 614 t of various products in 0,25 ha of forest was cleaned.
1994 In Lithuania, Mažeikiai oil refining plant 450 t of crude oil in 1,2 ha plant territory was cleaned.
1994 The development of innovative bacterial agent for remediation of oil – polluted sites (USA patent received).
1995 The development of scaled up oil polluted soil remediation technology and design of the first site in Lithuania, Klaipėda district, Kiškėnai for polluted soil treatment.
1996 – 1998  In Russia, West Siberian oil fields at Nefteyugansk 141 ha of crude oil polluted water bodies, marshes, soil was cleaned.
1999 In Lithuania, territory of JSC “Vilniaus šilumos tinklai” 520 t of soil polluted by oil products was cleaned.
2001 - 2005 The first European research & development program Eureka project.
2003 - 2004 The first Framework 5 program.
2004 - 2007 The first IT project.
2003 - 2009 In Lithuania, for JSC “Mažeikių nafta” 21600 t of polluted soil was cleaned.
2007 - 2008 The first structural funds – supported project.
2009 JSC “Biocentras” general manager dr. S. Grigiškis was elected as a chairman of the board of the Lithuanian National Biotechnology Platform.
