For soil and water polluted as results of technological processing decontamination technology at the cleaning sites and shops was developed. Polluted soil is delivered from contamination place to sites for storage, treatment and recovery.

The biological treatment technology based on biological preparations “Degradoilas” and “Emulvinas” is applied for clearing of soil polluted by oil contaminants at the cleaning sites. The scientists of the company have developed the biological preparations “Degradoilas” and “Emulvinas”. This technology allows avoiding secondary pollution of the nature. Hydrocarbons of oil and oil products degrade to ecologically neutral and environmentally friendly compounds. The cleaned soil reaches the permitted level of pollutions.

             

During 2003 – 2010 according to the technology for a decontamination of soil contaminated with oil, developed by JSC “Biocentras” scientists, just in the teritory of PC “ORLEN Lietuva” (former PC “Mažeikių nafta”) more than 22 000 tons of soil contaminated with oil has been cleaned. Initial contamination of the soil reached to 250 kg/t of oil hydrocarbons and the water amount to 70%.

The efficiency and operating speed depends on various factors:

• Structure of oil hydrocarbons;
• Meteorological conditions;
• Hoeing technology;
• Compatibility of actions with the client.

   While cleaning contaminated soil in biological technique (using bacterial preparations) in the sites with concrete floor, the soil is transfered to soil fields as the residual amount of heavy hydrocarbons reaches 50 – 100 kg/t (it depends on the initial contamination). It is cleaned according LAND9-2009 requirements.

During 2003 – 2010 period in the teritory of PC “ORLEN Lietuva” (former PC “Mažeikių nafta”) duration of the decontamination of soil contaminated with oil have not exeeded 18 months.
